Vogelsang
Far outside Berlin, about 70 kilometers northeast to be precise, lies the village of Vogelsang. During the Cold War, the Russians had an ammunition depot there in the woods, where nuclear missiles were also occasionally stored.
Since 1994, the Soviets have been gone, and the hundreds of buildings have fallen into disrepair. The old barracks are slowly being demolished, and this unique piece of history is disappearing, but a visit to this complex is unforgettable. It was my first urban exploring trip (so-called 'lost places' that are usually abandoned and illegal to visit).
More information on how to get there and what to look out for during this unique experience can be found on the Abandoned Berlin website. In the comments section there is usually some info on whether it is still worthwhile to visit the site.
