Prater

The Biergarten (beer garden) concept is not really original anymore. And if you are also located along the extremely hip Kastanienallee, you run the risk of becoming a major tourist attraction.

Thankfully most tourists are mainly interested in the fashion stores in the street and leave the Prater alone. On the inner courtyard of the theatre with the same name is a huge terrace, with no-nonsense furniture, no-nonsense food and especially loads of beer (and cola, but no cola light or other sodas).

It usually becomes crowded during the evening hours. Waiting for the waiters is pointless by the way: the Prater is self-service.
