Lokschuppen

Theoretically, everything makes sense at the Lokschuppen. A grimy old warehouse transformed into a disco, a garden where nice indoor house parties can be held, and all of this in the hipster paradise R.A.W. Gelände in Friedrichshain.

But the Lokschuppen (formerly named Suicide Circus) is actually abominably bad. This is where teenagers come looking for their first club experience, and provincials from the Berlin area who think every disco in the city is hip. Except they aren't themselves, with their sneakers, jeans, and track jackets. The music is an eclectic mix, quite good on some nights, but the whole culture has nothing to do with Berlin techno.

Not surprisingly, the gay party icon Chantals House of Shame (every thurday) has found its new home here. A much better fit!
