Hochbunker

Another bunker as a remain of the Second World War. Unfortunately this Hochbunker is difficult to visit, Berkliner Unterwelten only occasionally offers tours.

This former shelter and storage place was built by forced labor as the new central hub for telephone connections. After the war, the building wasn’t completely finished: attempts to blow it up were unsuccessful. Nowadays the bunker is in the shadows of the Pallasseum, a huge socialist residential building that became the symbol of everything that was wrong with immigrants  coming to Berlin.
