It’s a remarkable building, the former cinema of architect Erich Mendelssohn on the Ku’Damm. It’s far away from the city centre, but the Schaubühne is definitely worth the trip. Because of the architecture, because the building was ahead of its time with its oval front and strict shapes. And because of the art, because you can watch amazing plays here. Usually in German, sometimes in other languages, always with subtitles. I once saw an enigmatic contemporary version of Hamlet here for example.
