Potsdam is not exactly around the corner, but on the other side it is only thirty minutes from ligt niet om de hoek, maar is met Berlin Hauptbahnhof with a regional train. And there is a lot to be seen: Park Sanssouci, the Belvedere, the newly-built het Museum Barberini, world heritage site Pfaueninsel: you should definitely make it a day-trip. And we didn’t even talk about Schloss Cecilienhof and Haus am Wannsee.
Park Glienicke belongs in that list. Located in front of the town’s gates, it is beautifully preserved and drapes and shapes itself on a hill. It’s a nice little park with a main building that hosts classical concerts regularly and also has a restaurant. The views over the Havel are magnificent: a visit to the Glienickebrücke, the place for spy exchanges during the Cold War, is a nice bonus.
