Feuerle Collection

One of the most insane buildings in Berlin is located close to the bombed former Anhalter Bahnhof. In the neighbour’s bunker is the Berlin Museum, but the bunker of the Feuerle Collection is even bigger.

Just like the Sammlung Boros this is a private collection, in this case Desire Feuerle’s. Her collection comprises centuries-old works from the Han dynasty, but also recent pictures and a piece by Anish Kapoor. These are all exhibited in vast, dark concrete spaces that have been refurbished by architect John Pawson. A special, though short experience, because you don’t get a tour inside the building (except for a short introduction) and have to find your own way around, without a camera even.
